Oakdale Lending Group This company is taking advantage of people in financial distress! Charlottesville Virginia

Sharon Wells of the the so called "Oakdale Lending Group" contact me regarding a loan that I applied for through American General Finance Co. on-line. Some how they were able to get my contact numbers saying I was approved for a $5000.00 loan.

She explained how her company works and they lend money to people that have been turned down by other lenders. She said I had to secure a collateral payment of $1,100.00 which will cover my first five payments.

I was leary at first and checked out their web-site and the BBB for any complaints. One of my relatives said they received a loan before where they needed to have a security deposit for a loan with Amercian General Finance so I thought it was okay.

I needed the money to pay the remaining balance of my daughters college tutition and a few bills I wanted to clear up before the holidays.

I did not have the collateral deposit and declined. Ms. Wells said if I got the money within 7 days of the contract she faxed which was 11/13/2008 the money would be in my account the next business day.

I was already late with my rent payment and had $800.00 waiting to get paid on 11/17/2008 to add the other $400.00 dollars I needed to pay my rent.

Since she said I would have the money in my checking account within 24hrs of the payment received, I used my rent my to pay the collateral payment.

The day I was suppose to have the money in my checking account a man by the name of Victor Ellis called me saying the was a problem with my loan and I needed another $1,100.00 to secure it.

I told him I did not have any more money. He said he would refund my deposit but I would have to wait until 12/15/2008. I was not pleased with that and called Ms. Wells crying my eyes out. She said she was sorry and that was the first time anyone had ever been asked to pay more money.

She said there was nothing she could do, Mr. Ellis was her boss and was handling my case now. I felt something was not right. If I was not approved for a loan why do I have to wait almost a month to get a refund. They have my checking account info, just wire my money back to my account.

A week later Mr. Ellis had the nerve to still try to milk money out of me, saying he got the collaleral payment down to another $600.00 instead of $1,100.00.

I declined his offer and repeated I just want my money back. On 12/15/2008 my monies were not returned and the company's phone number was out of order.

This has been a huge set back for me. I am a single working mother of two. One which is in college and I live from paycheck to paycheck. As of today 12/31/2008 I am two months behind in my rent and facing eviction.

Is there something we can do to bring these thoughtless, uncaring people to justice? I worked so hard to get my apartment. I was homeless for three years before I moved here in 2/2008. Staying with friends and relatives with my two children.

I can't believe this is about to happen again.
