Oakwood Manufactured Homes poor materials, poor customer service, crooked ripoff Internet

We purchased a 1998 mobile home in 1999 from Oakwood Homes. As I write this, our roof is leaking, well, pouring, because the ENTIRE roof has completely rotted leaving the tar paper lining the roof as the only barrier between us and the elements. Yeah, the shingles have a 25 year warranty. Big Whoop.

Since Vanderbilt has purchased Oakwood's clients, we contacted Vanderbilt and their insurance adjustor blamed it on the company that set the mobile home. The company that set the mobile home has blamed it on the materials used by Oakwood.

Tomorrow a roofing company is going to give us an estimate on how much it will cost to replace the roof, which will be out of our pocket. Oakwood/Vanderbilt's pockets are deeper. Litigation would take too long and would be just another cost associated with replacing the roof.
