I was moving and downsizing in Feb. 2018.  I had furniture I felt was too good to just donate or give away (as I had with many of my possessions) so I found O'Gallerie, Inc. online under Antiques and Estate Sales.  "The Premier Auction House on the Westcoast".  I arranged for them to come pick up my furniture:  Nice Drexel vintage dining set, double pedestal legs, 2 leaves, 5 side chairs and 2 arm chairs, lovely matching china hutch and buffet, plus a large matching mirror.  I also sent a darling old oak dresser, my grandmother's treadle sewing machine in a really nice oak cabinet (circa 1900), a well used leather loveseat, and 4 like new Craftsman style family room chairs with deep microfiber cushions.

After the auction I did NOT receive a check, I received a BILL for the pick-up and delivery. Thomas O'Grady said he was sorry I was disappointed in the results of the auction, but I had signed the consignment agreement which made no guarantees.

All 7 of the dining chairs (sturdy, all wood, good fabric on the seats) were sold for $5.00.  Not $5 each, for a TOTAL of 5 dollars.  The 4 Craftsman chairs that I had paid $1400 for, sold for $25.00. Their commission was $20 so I netted $5.  The really nice china hutch and buffet "sold" for $5 each but the commission was $5 each.  He said he gave the table to the lady who "bought" the 7 chairs.  The oak dresser sold for $40 but the commission was $20.  The loveseat sold for $5 with $5 commission.  The sewing machine was not mentioned.

The little amount I netted from all this ($30) was deducted from the delivery charges so I only owed him $190.00.  I took them to small claims court; got nowhere in mediation and will face a judge in a month who will likely tell me the paperwork I signed legally covers them.

Thomas O'Grady is very dishonest and untrustworthy. This is a business that has no intention of pleasing its clients, sellers or buyers.  Do not do business with them!
