On January 6, 2014, I was contacted by prospective employer from Craigslist wanting to set up an interview for an administrative position. See below the content from my email:

Hi XXXX,

My name is Sharon- I'm the staffing manager at Amitech Solutions. I've reviewed your application, and your qualifications may be a good fit for our administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in executive-classic format (company requirement for new hire résumés). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.

If you are unfamiliar with an executive-classic format, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know OneBuckResume.com or ResumeEdge should support the format).

At first I disregard the email, but after looking at the email a couple days later, I decided to google search the recommended site. After watching a few youtube videos on executive-classic format, which I never heard of using this style until this email, I decided to use an online service. On January 10th, after much reluctance, I went to OneBuck Resume to create an account for this prospective employer.

I was very unsuccessful to create an account by uploading my professional experience into their system, after I submit my credit/bank card to start the process in order to create the account. The website continue to default back to the beginning of the template without any confirmation. Within five days, my banking account was charge $19.80 on 1/15/2015 after several attempts to contact the company to cancel my subscription .

The phone automatic system could recognize my number and to no avail, I was unable to contact a live representative. I google OneBuckResume scam, many links began to surface including the Ripoff Report. I sent an email to the company requesting to cancel my subscription and request a full refund. I am also reporting this company to the attorney general office as well as disputing the transaction with my bank. I have not receive any email or response from the OneBuckResume.com representative.

I received this e-mail copied and pasted below from what I assumed was a legitimate employer. I responded to a job opening on craigslist as well and got an immediate response. I completed all the steps at onebuckresume but had some technical difficulties. I attempted once more and still couldn't get past step 3. I paid twice! I typed in OneBuckResume.com complaints and right away came across this site. Something needs to be done about these scam artist praying on honest job seekers. I did everything possible to contact their support line, but of course their 24/7 live chat wasn't working either. Lesson learned...I'm contacting my bank and reporting them for fraud.

Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Karen- I'm the staffing manager here at New Leaf Financial. I've reviewed your application, and you may be a good fit for our administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in roman-executive format (company requirement for new hire résumés). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward. If you are unfamiliar with a roman-executive format, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know OneBuckResume.com or ResumeEdge should support the format). Please email me if you have any questions. Kind Regards, Karen Mireles Staffing Coordinator New Leaf Financial™ LLC
