OneGuard Home Warranty Contractors cause more damage than they fix Nationwide Nationwide
DON’T USE ONEGUARD. The customer service people are nice on the phone but the repair people are terrible!! They show up without an appointment and then yell at you. They show up to fix one thing and break two other things in the process! They wear you down with their incompetence until you give up and pay out of pocket. I wasted so much time calling to complain, setting up appointment after appointment, waiting at home for OneGuard, not to mention tearing my hair out each time they left my kitchen in worse shape than they found it. Learn from my OneGuard misfortunes and do not buy a OneGuard home warranty policy!
This is a follow-up to my original OneGuard review last summer 2016. In 2016, I posted about my aggravation with OneGuard after I made an appointment for maintenance on my stackable dryer, the OneGuard guy came to my house, told me he doesn’t service stackables and left. I then made an appointment to get my dryer vent cleaned out. OneGuard guy showed up without making an appointment when no one was home and proceeded to leave me an extremely rude voicemail. At this point, my dryer broke (probably due to not being able to get maintenance or vent cleaning). Rather than deal with another rude and incompetent OneGuard serviceman, I bought a new dryer and got the vent cleaned on my own dime ($800). That was my first OneGuard review.
After I posted my tale of woe, a very nice OneGuard customer service lady offered to make amends. Amazing, right? NOT AT ALL. I never should have gone down the OneGuard rabbit hole again. OneGuard agreed to reimburse me $200 for the new dryer and vent cleaning and fix my dishwasher without charging me the standard service fee. (The dryer and vent were $800 but the $200 was a nice gesture). I agreed that I would replace my earlier bad review with a good review.
I was absolutely insane to deal with them again. Here’s what happened: OneGuard guy comes after 3 days, says dishwasher pump is broken and it takes a week to order. This is 10 days without a dishwasher. We have a toddler and brand new baby so things are hectic at our house. Not a good time to be without a dishwasher. OneGuard guy returns, replaces pump, breaks door, doesn’t remount dishwasher, leaves with dishwasher just sitting loose under the counter. Remember that toddler? I really don’t want the dishwasher falling out on him. I complain to the very nice OneGuard customer service lady. Repair guy returns a week later, remounts dishwasher, attempts unsuccessfully to fix broken door, leaves with door still broken. I complain AGAIN to the very nice OneGuard customer service lady. This time I am required to provide video evidence that door is broken. Like I would lie about this and continue to deal with these people if I didn’t have to! Repair guy returns AGAIN, says yes, door is indeed broken (imagine that!) because HE BROKE THE KICKPLATE when he pulled dishwasher out on previous service call, says he will order the part and return. That was two weeks ago and they have not come back with the part and won’t return my calls. I will order the kickplate and install myself rather than waste yet another day on these people.
Learn from my OneGuard misfortunes and do not buy a OneGuard home warranty policy!
