In mid-August 2015, I purchased a sterling silver & CZ ring with an unusual setting - the stones are set in a cup and a small "finger" of silver that stretched over the stone to hold it in the cup. It's not the best design, but my friend liked it & wanted it, so I bought it.
First issue I encountered was when the item was delivered, beyond the guaranteed 10-day delivery date, and there was no ring in the box. I contacted OpenSky and they said they would contact their supplier and get back to me. They did and several days later I was told a new shipment was on it's way. That package was delivered in early September and this time the ring was in the box.
Several days go by & my friend tells me that there's a problem with the ring. She shows me that one of the stones is missing & the cup the stone sat in was malformed and she thought that's how she lost the stone. Looking at it further, I saw that the "finger" holding the stone in the cup was lifted slightly & the cup looked as if it were offset by several millimeters, clearly adding to the easy loss of the stone.
I have since contacted OpenSky and they are standing by a 14-day refund time-frame offered by the company. The trouble is, I initially contacted them more than a week ago - on day 13 - and no one contacted me. I sent another email on Monday, September 28, and I received a response that they refuse to accept a refund. I argued that I didn't ask for anything in return when I had to wait nearly a month for the ring to initially be delivered, so the company should take that into consideration and refund the money paid for this cheaply made product. Again, they refuse.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear of OpenSky. They sell inferior product and they then don't stand behind what they sell. They have this interesting scam where they tell you that you have a balance you can use to purchase product from their site. I was initially told I had some $65 or so available. At another time, I was told I had nearly $90 in my account. Here's the rub: when you try to use this balance to make a purchase, you only get a dollar or two off the cost of the item... you cannot use the entire balance on a single item or a group of items. The company determines how much of your money is put towards each item that you buy. Not very honest, but what should one expect from a ripoff company?
