On 1/29/12, my fiance and I visited the Bass Pro Shop.  We were approached by a marketing rep (Walter Cook) at the Outdoor Traveler kiosk.  He convinced us to purchase a land and sea getaway for $149.  He spent 30+ minutes with us showing us the resorts we could stay at and talking about how wonderful the cruise would be for our honeymoon.  (We had told him this would be our honeymoon getaway.)

He never once mentioned, until we were signing the Acceptance Form, that we would have to attend a Timeshare Sales Presentation.   By this time, we were so excited about the beautiful places we could stay and the Carnival Cruise for our honeymoon, that we figured the sales presentation would be worth it.  We bought it.

When we got home and logged into the website to book our getaway, we learned that we had purchased the "premium package" and that we would be staying in a hotel, not any of the places he showed us, and we can't even choose the hotel.  All we can choose is the destination.  We also learned that we can't have the cruise until we attend the sales presentation.

We feel Walter Cook didn't exactly lie to us, but he blatantly misrepresentated what he was showing and telling us.  He was very smooth about it and knew exactly what he was doing.

The cancellation policy instructs us to write to the Outdoor Traveler office in Orlando, FL and I'm sure they will take their time refunding the money.  Meanwhile, we will be visiting the Outdoor Traveler kiosk again and letting them know how unhappy we are with their selling methods.  We will also let the management of Bass Pro Shop know this incident just cost them our business.  I do not wish to shop inside a store that allows their customers to be deceived the way we have been.
