I contracted with PDL Assistance, Inc. in 11/08 to settle with 3 payday loan companies. I paid $200 up front and $178 for 6 months. They were paid a total of $1,268. They do not attempt negotiations with your creditors until all monies are paid to them. I called them every month (sometimes more often) and cannot get past the person who answers the phone. That person says, "I will contact my negotiations department to get an update on your account", but I NEVER get any new information. So I have no idea where I stand with my creditors. Right now I have $428 in an account with a bank in Oklahoma. Before you contact PDL Assistance, be sure to read the "fine" print. They get 30% of the money you pay in plus an additional $29.95 monthly fee; and, the bank charges $10.35 maintenance fee. Do you think 3 payday loan companies will settle when I have a mere $428 to settle a $1300 debt? I don't think so!! I honestly don't think this company has done anything for me except laugh all the way to the bank for getting the bulk of the money I paid them for their so-called services. I was a real idiot for not reading more closely. Don't make the same mistake I did. The payday loan companies will work with you if you get into a tough situation. I just gave a company $840 for doing NOTHING. I think I will retrieve my remaining $428. I have closed the account and they are to deposit the funds in my checking account. This company, PDL Assistance, Inc. is a RIP-OFF.
