I went to pepboys to have them read my trouble code knowing that I was due for 60,000 maintenance on my 2011 honda. The managers treated me like a stupid blonde. Yes I may be blonde but not stupid. I knew my car needed certain fluids but right away manager tells me it needs a timing belt which will cost $1000! I tell him I don't have that much money and as I am leaving he tries to scare me by telling me I will damage the car if I keep driving it. I call my dealership and they inform me that my make and model are not due for timing belt change until 7 years or 100,000 miles. My car is only 4 years old and has barely over 60,000. I go down to jiffy lube and they read the codes and charge $250. If your a single woman don't trust these people. They are effed up!

TYG You nasty, harmfull, Psychopathic troll

AUTHOR: Bubba Lee - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Well Wrong anyway. {Recycled header}.

So OP says talked to dealer, got the real low down on recomended replacement period.

Then OP went to Jiffy Lube and had the problem scanned and repaired.

The OP, being Blond and Female, belived the scummy rippoff dealer (Not really, but to make a point) that sold her the car instead of the scummy repair shop who wanted to her spend a bucket full of money she doesn't need to.

Tyg thinks she was wrong to get a second and thrird opinion?

WOW Bad Tyg Bad Tyg, no milk bone for you.

Did??

Did you check with a trusted mechainc to see IF your timing belt needed to be changed?? I mean if YOU have to take your vehicle to get it worked on then there is a very good chance that YOU wouldnt know what you were looking at. YOU could have some wear and tear on your timing belt and they were doing their part by informing you. If YOU just called someone and they told you that you SHOULDNT need a new timing belt then YOU havent done YOUR part. YOU then would be defaming someone who told YOU good solid information all because your butthurt. Maybe take it to a trusted mechanic BEFORE you go blasting someone online. There ARE real life consequences for doing as YOU have done. The entire web is NOT Facebook and what YOU have done has a price tag that starts at 25K. If YOU cannot afford a prolonged legal battle in civil court then think twice BEFORE you go blasting them on a public forum. Or dont, its YOUR wallet that takes the hit.
