PERSONAL CONCEPTS COMPLIANCE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, operating out of San Dimas, CA (although I’ve seen reports in FLA as well) is FRAUDULENT, and a HOAX. They’re deceptive and categorically devious about how they scam people and business owners, out of money. Here’s how:

You’ll receive an envelope with your state logo. They’re careful to use the exact logo and font as the state your business operates out of, or where you live—in my case, Massachusetts.

Here’s what this swindling company writes:

On the left hand side is the stolen state logo with bold letters that read: 15 FEDERAL AND MASSACHUSETTS REGULATIONS AFFECTING YORU EMPLOYEES. On the right hand side there’s a reference number and this note: Please complete the reverse side of this document to protect your company from government fines up to $17,000 per violation.  (Incidentally, like a parking or moving violation, the state simply fines you and you’ll know why if you do something wrong. They never send you a notice to buy a poster to avoid charges. )

The UPDATE NOTICE in their letter reads: “As an employer in (your town and state), (name of your corporation) must ensure compliance with revised labor law posting requirements and replace any outdated notices. Recent federal revisions include five new/revised notices: the Employee Polygraph Protection Notice… ”

This goes on for a half page of what reads like legal jargon. On the other side is an ALERT that reads: “You must post revised Massachusetts & Federal Labor Law Notices…”

On the opposite side is an order form that ranges in price, starting at $9.95 for a “Federal Labor Law Poster,” plus lamination and shipping charges. In the end, one poster is about $20 or more depending on how many you order.

The reason I chose to post about this company is because I’m weary of opening mail, email, etc., and trying to decipher the important things I need to deal with in my busy day, versus something like what PERSONAL CONCEPTS COMPLIANCE SERVICE DEPARTMENT sends me. And, in the end, I’m afraid that they really do swindle the “1,200,000 businesses” they brag about in their letter. I’m hoping they can be shut down. In the very least, they’ve committed copyright infringement in violation of Title 17 U.S. Code, Section 106(a) of the Copyright Act of 1976. That comes with a hefty fine. I’m inclined to send my lawyer after this company that feels so cozy that they’re using the state logo to embezzle money.

I hope this helps. Please read your mail carefully!
