I fell 2 months behind on my house payment when my husband was laid off from his job. I mailed in my November payment in January and had a plan to get caught back up. PHH returned and refused my payment saying that it simply wasn't enough to cover the amount I had fallen behind! Is that even legal??

How can the mortgage company refuse a payment when it is sent in? They are FORCING their customers into foreclosure! It is total highway robbery. At least Jesse James wore a mask!! How is refusing a payment even legal???
