My boyfriend went to Pinnacle Nissan of Scottsdale to purchase a 2002 Nissan Altima. He completed all the paperwork, gave them a $2500 downpayment, and the keys to his trade. We leave thinking it is a done deal. A couple of days later the salesperson calls and says that they can't get financing. They request he return the vehicle. In the meantime, the dealership deposits the $2000 check for the downpayment, which they were suppose to hold for 21 days. This resulted in return check fees being charged to his account. My boyfriend contacts a lawyer, who informs him that by law dealerships can request you return the vehicle if they can't get you financed. You see it is in the fine print that they have you initial. I spoke with the Cust Svc Mgr for Pinnacle Nissan, and was told that they really don't go over that part, because most people wouldn't purchase a vehicle if they knew it was not a done deal. I called to two different lawyers in reference to this situation, and both had received prior inquires regarding the same practice at Pinnacle Nissan.

Pinnacle Nissan was suppose to pick up my boyfriend's trade from the dealership it was being serviced at. They never did and the vehicle was impounded. When we went to return the vehicle, they attempted to charge us for mileage. Plus, they did not have the keys to his vehicle. They did not have the downpayment or NSF fee charges. My boyfriend refused to return the vehicle until they gave him his truck, downpayment, and NSF fees. My boyfriend leaves with the vehicle. Pinnalce Nissan calls Scottsdale PD and reports the vehicle stolen. My boyfriend returns the vehicle, because it was not worth going to jail. After several phone calls to the owner of Pinnacle and the attorney for the dealership, I managed to get his downpayment and NSF fees returned. They decided not to charge for mileage on the vehicle. THEY HAVE NEVER RETURNED THE KEYS TO HIS VEHICLE.

I have told this story to several people. Nine out of ten people have told me they've had similar or know someone who has experienced this at PINNACLE NISSAN in SCOTTSDALE, AZ. No one at the dealership has ever apologized for the situation. So please save yourself a big hassle and waste of time, when it comes to purchasing your new car DON'T BUY AT PINNACLE NISSAN in SCOTTSDALE,AZ.
