First off let me add that I have had sucessfull door to door jobs in the past so I basically knew what I was getting into when decided to take the job. I worked for pinnacle for 2 seasons and i have good things and bad things to say about the company. I choose to stay anonymous due to pinnacles ruthless stalking tactics.

I'll try to keep it short, sweet, and to the point.

I was approached by a friend about the job. And he was making over a thousand a day selling these things. The most I've ever made in a day was like 600 and that wasn't an everyday thing. So i jumped aboard. Got a sign on bonus of 1000 dollars and had shirts, paperwork and i binder sent to me in the mail. Got no training and went out and sold 2 my first day. At 300 a sale i had 600 comming, already had a grand in the bank and it took me 2 hours to get them 2 sales. I was thinking"DREAM JOB".

Then they give me a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in a luxury gated townhome rent free. I was thinking that this couldnt get any better. So i packed up my whole house and drove my famile 30 hours away for this new opertunity. It was still cold out and it was pre season still so i sold a couple a week making between 600-900 a week for the first couple weeks. Then big boss comes to town and presented me with a packet explaining new sales rules. I have documentation explaining the specifics but i'm trying to keep this fairly short. With theses new rules in place one week before the first wave of sales reps came to start I didnt work. I hung out at the gym and pool got my kids registered at school and just relaxed. I knew i would be working 6 days a week for the summer and i would be sitting on riches in the winter.

The boss is here now along with about 15 or 20 reps total and i get to ride out with the boss and he brings us to the ghetto(wich isnt a bad thing when it comes to this type of job). With the new rules in place i knocked door all day and talked to tons of people and sold nothing. A bit discouraged I shook it off and put things into play the next day on the same street and sold 3...Yay for me!!

When It all started going downhill!!!

On the 3rd day I came to realize that other reps wer cherry picking and being rude to the people that didnt get the system on my assigned streets. Now these hoods are close knit and everyone practically knows most of thier neighbors. So didnt sell another one for the rest of the week. But hey I still made 900 bucks.

I asked my boss if i could take my own car out to the field because i felt i could be more productive and find clean streets. The boss said it was fine but i had to bring reps with me and give them areas and he would let me go sell where ever i want.

At first we would pick an area and kill it the first day and the next day there would be another groupe of reps in that area from my office. They would cherrypick everything and always gobble up the good stuff. Then all my old contracts started going bad 1 by one. eventhough the customer was still paying thier bill it was said i was paid too much on my commission. Now i was in debt over a thousand dollars and every sale i got was deducted from what i owed. Naturally i fell into a sales slump and started going broke. My privalege of driving out myself was revoked. Now i had to go out with other reps that had worked for the company for years. I was forced to work the worst areas. To explain this method what they would do is drive out on a sunday or after everyone was dropped in thier assigned area and scope a new are or city and when we would move on from our old areas to the new ones the experienced driver would put him self in the best spot. His buddy ridding shotgun in a good spot. and the rest of us would be put in the worst spots and we would be stuck in those spots untill the driver and his buddies wer done getting what they can from the good spots. and when they wer done we would get picked up and brought to new crappy spots. I would be stuck in a specific hood from 2-4 days. Now these hoods consisted of subdivisions with prewired systems that are part of the association. Picture knocking in 90 degree wheather for hours and barely finding anyone home and the ones you do find home tell you that they have a system that came with the home and the bill is included in thier association fees. after a couple days of that i would get moved to a spot with nothing but old people. Now i could trick an old senial person into buying i'm sure but generally old people arent good business and 9 times out of 10 one of them will call police and we never had a permit. Sometime i would get moved around a few time in a day but always given the same type hoods and all motivation get killed when its hitting 6pm and you cant get any action going. The classic would be the hood that the experienced rep couldnt get a sale out of so he puts you there wile he drives out to untouched areas. Oh yea the area with 10 houses 4 lakes and a national park in it and when you have nothing left to knock and call to be moved the driver dosent respond because he has driven 20-30 miles away and it would be out of his way to help you. You could always walk for miles to a new spot but youll get yelled at if you sell there.

I was so broke it wasnt funny..i owed the company tons of dough and since i lived in a place they paid for i had to endure this situation day in and day out. Now whith the end of the season comming to a close i knew i was gonna be out on my a*s with no dough and pinnacle chasing me for money. so I sold my car bought a beater and used the rest of the dough to rent a truck and pay the first and last months rent on a small duplex apartment. Thank god i found a job and things got better but i am stuck living out in the middle of the country away from my family.

The story continues extensively but i gotta go for now..
