BE ADVISED that Pioneer Military Lending is a Complete Ripoff to ALL MILITARY MEMBERS. They claim to supoort the military and usually hire retired higher enlisted and officers to handle their LOCAL OFFICES. These retiree's are for visual effect to appear supportive. But they are actually their for the dirty work. Let me explain. Targets for Pioneer are lower enlisted. Everyone knows that the lower enlisted are low on funds on a constant basis. Pioneer will have signs posted all around Bases and Posts showing support but what is obvious is that they are advertising. They hire these recently retired members knowing that they still have connections to call upon these "friends" and advertise for the business. These younger enlisted, right out of "mom & dads" hands are shown to believe that the Military installations are supporting the lending.
So insted of going to their local Credit Unions for lower rates they go to PML because they are made to believe that with little or no credit they can get more $ through this apparantly military supportive place of business. After thier MANDATORY allotment stage is complete and verification from thier staff asking their Command if the Member is facing any criminal punishment (telling all that you are applying for a loan, not just verifing employment but getting into your private business). You are then issued a loan with a higher % rate then any other Bank or Credit union.
Now back to why they employ retired members. Lets say that the military member falls off the face of the earth or is deployed and somehow they no longer are making payments. This INDIVIDUAL will call the Command and share their PRIVATE information violating the Federal Debt Collections Privacy Act by acting as a concerned recently retired military member who wants to protect this individuals credit and any further action. This communication with the command is not out of concern but to now have the command do all the dirty work by locating them and FORCING them to pay so this way their command is not embarrased in anyway or have a higher authority contacted.
WHAT COMPANY BESIDES THESE SO CALLED MILITARY FRIENDLY COMPANIES WOULD DO SUCH A THING. I dont see "Sears" or any other legit known company contacting a command. Because its illegal, but when you sugarcoat it and put one of your own on the other end of the phone its apparantly OK. I dont blame the Military, nor the individual Member, they signed into a loan contract. I blame the practices of Pioneer for destroying so many good Military members reputation in their work place and taking ADVANTAGE of our younger enlisted.
YOU WANT TO SUPPORT OUR MILITARY MEMBERS PIONEER? LOWER YOUR INTEREST RATE BY OPENING YOUR SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC BRINGING IN MORE CUSTOMERS. OH, YOU CANT, BECAUSE YOUR WHOLE REASON OF BEING IN BUSINESS IS TO CATER TO THE MILITARY AND BY ALLOWING EVERYONE TO APPLY THAT WILL MEAN YOU MUST NOW HIRE MORE COLLECTION OFFICERS TO DO THE DIRTY WORK INSTED OF RETIREES WHICH WOULD CAUSE YOUR COMPANY TO "FOLLOW THE LAW".
