I was not aware of Pool.com until I had to bid for a domain name through a website that Pool.com had put together.

The situation is that, all participants in the domain name auction had placed their desited bids hours before the closing date/time of the auctions - I can tell this as this information is avaialble on the auction site.

The informatin includes participants allocated ID, amout they bid and date and time of the bid.

The auction had clsoed and I had won the domain name - all good at this stage.

At this stage I was expecting an email confirming that I had won the auction. Hours went by and no email.

Several hours later, I went back to the site to see if there are any meesages stating that I had won the auction.

To my absolute amazement and disgus, Pool.com had decided to reopen the auction and extend the closing date by 24hrs!!!

This was a closed auction where ALL participants had placed their bids hours before the auction had closed. In what world is it fair, legal or professional to reopen a closed auction which had a winning bid!?!?!

And all this wihtout a single email stating the reason!!

I sent several emails to various parties including Pool.com, statitng that their actions are not acceptable and possible not legal.

I mean, what is an auction?

Auction: "..a public sale in which goods or property are sold to the highest bidder."

"highest bidder" is the keyword.

basically it looks like Pool.com think they can get more money out of me or other participants if they extend the closing date of a CLOSED auction!!

Stay away from Pool.com unless you have no other options...
