I was desperate for help, owing a considerable amount to the IRS they guaranteed me that they could be an "offer in compromise" for pennies on the dollar. The whole thing turned into a nightmare of paperwork, months of not hearing from them, no return of phone calls. I paid them $4000.00 and now it has been over 18 months and I still ower the IRS all the money and then some!!

I wish I could go back in time and believe me I would not deal with this company and I would have $4000.00 to help with my delinquent taxes!! I implore you people DO NOT waste your hard earned money on this awful company that will cause you more problems and give you NO help!

Sorry

to the Taxpayer....

AUTHOR: Power Tax - (U.S.A.)

It is unfortunate that the taxpayer filed this report. The taxpayer claimed we never did anything, which is not true. When she first signed up with us we immediately went to work. We contacted the IRS and prepared the financial statement the IRS requested based on information she provided to us. Some documents were intentionally "blacked out" and when we asked her for an explanation she just kept faxing over the same documents with the same information blacked out. The taxpayer never called or contacted us with an explanation.

Doing the best we could with the information she provided to us. we contacted the IRS to resolve her case. The IRS agent informed us that the taxpayer previously made a promise to stay in compliance for the current tax year and to date, no payments have been received. We immediately communicated that to the taxpayer, and reminded her several times that it was necessary for her to meet her estimated tax requirements.

The taxpayer was levied and we got it released. Then we never heard from her.

We sent out several notices to her in the next several months asking her to provide us with verification of compliance and also requested her to send us updated documentation. (Unfortunately, updating paperwork is a continuous process only because the IRS directly requests for it.) After 3 months went by with no response from her, we inactivated her case.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Power Tax. My experience with them has been pretty positive. They did not set up false expectations, have been very straight-forward, returned my calls, etc. No, they did not save me thousands of dollars, I did owe the IRS a lot. However, the IRS quit hounding me, they helped me re-finance my home and now that the IRS is paid they are working to get some of the fines and penalities removed. My attorney has been compassionate and professional.

Also, they prevented the IRS from garnishing my wages.
