Prestige is the worst car loan institution I've ever dealt with.
I bought a car from a car dealership for 13,000. I had it paid down to only oweing 5 grand. I ended up getting cancer and got behind by 2 payments due to inability to work due to chemotherapy and other health issues at the time. They started calling my employer disguising themselves as law enforcement, going on my facebook page and calling my friends and family listed on there, they literally called me up to 42 times a day. That is how many missed calls I had from them while I was getting my chemotherapy one day.
After threatenting me with a clemency, I finally gave up and had them come pick up the car. That 5 grand I had left oweing BEFORE they sold the car has now turned into over 20,000 that I have paid them through garnishments and payments. The CAR is paid off but they keep hitting me with interest every month. $ 1,000 a month is what they are charging me in interest every month. I tried to work out a plan with them for the remaining 4 grand in November of 2014, they wanted a down payment of $1600.00 just to review it to see if they will put me on a payment plan to stop garnishing me. They have taken 700 a month of my paycheck for a year and I STILL owe 5000 dollars???? They obviously can't add.
They will NOT send me a copy of my payment history. I cant even afford an attorney to fight them.
Worst company ever and you would have to be a cold hearted heartless a*****e to work for them.
Stay away from Prestige Financial and find a different loan company.
** I now have a different finance company that I have bought 2 cars with since!! So I'm obviously NOT the problem.

The Price of a Repo

How do you get "threatened" with a "clemency"??? When a car is repo'ed, you STILL owe the contractual amount including extra interest you generated for them because of late payments, late fees, repo charges etc. For them to garnish wages, they MUST go to court and sue you, then get a judgement against you to attach wages, bank accounts etc. You had to be served once you were sued and then notified of the judgement against you. This process does not happen in a vacuum.

Thank you for your advice. I will definitely look into and get a consumer attorney and see what they can do to help me to get this to stop. It truly is only interest they keep filing on now and it is eating me alive.
Thank you again!!! Appreciate your advice.

Wrong On Multiple Accounts

If you would have done your research, you would have discovered that brand of car has an acknowledged huge history of problems. Buying a car is NOT an investment, therefore the ROI model is not applicable. A car is a diminishing asset. Finally, why did the dealer need to inform you what kind of deal this was? You would have signed a disclosure sheet telling you in plain English either you bought the car with a warranty or it was "As Is" and "As Is" means YOU pay for any and all repairs. You didn't read your paperwork, did you? I understand your desire to provide a special gift for a very special person but that gift should be lasting and trouble free. A used MC "As Is" just doesn't fit the requirements. Before I forget, I don't work for them!

Sounds like they are collecting on a judgment

To end these constant issues with them, pull up your public records to see if they have a judgment against you. This may be the way they keep garnishing your checks. From your post, it really sounds like they got a judgment a long time ago and the interest and fees are eating you alive.
If they do have a judgment, get a consumer attorney to represent you. Not the attorney that they used to get the judgment. At least then your attorney can get a copy of all the payments made by you after the judgment was received. Also he probably will be able to negotiate the judgment and have the other side provide recorded Satisfaction or get the other side to vacate the existing judgment. That will be the only way to get it to stop. Otherwise the interest continues to accrue daily.
No, I don't work for them. Just thought you could use an idea or two of how to get them to stop taking funds from your tax refund or your bank account or your paycheck.
