A month ago when i bought a car i called progressive asking for an insurance quote and the lady told me that the price for a 6 month policy was $180, i was happy about the price and payed with credit card right away. The agent told me that was all payed for six month even with a free second driver.
3 weeks after i receive a letter from progressive that was asking me extra $80 for renewal.
So i called in and a very rude guy told me yelling that the $80 were due for a miscalculation of the first quote. Even if i let them know that was not fair they forced me to pay the $80 telling that even if i would cancel the policy i had to pay $50 cancellation fees.
Is that a ripoff??You tell me.
Thanks.

That's the way Progressive conducts business. It's in no way illegal, though not a good way to keep customers, either. And, by the way, the word is PAID, not payed.
