My wife wanted a remote control to turn on/off the alarm so after further researching, we decided to submit for proposal of the latest and greates of house alarm system.

So, first in the list was PROTECTION ONE, we have been customer with them for more than five years. We left one message to an OUTSOURCE customer service person which was extremely rude and stated that someone will call us. Finally, somebody got a hold of my wife and the system quote we got was about $1,600. Next, we called ADT and they immediately called us and made an appointment to our house at our schedule. We really like ADT proposal and decided to sign up with them.

On the next day, I called to cancel and another OUTSOURCED customer representative said that someone will call me. Few days passed and finally DAWN (tel 951-782-6925) called and was extremely nice and wanted to retain the account. I simply said not to waist her time as we had made a decision and they missed the opportunity to provide us with the security needs we were looking for.

At first Dawn said that in order to cancel, corporate was going to send a letter. I said Ok. Then, she talked to to my wife; my wife called her because I told her that Dawn had said that they will need to come to the house and rip off all of the alarm equipment. My wife was very uneasy about this request.

Then Dawn told my wife that it would be better if we type in a letter and send it to the corporate office in Kansas. Dawn is in Riverside, CA (about 15 minutes from where I live). Dawn admitted that the corporate office often don't send the cancellation form for the customer to fill in.

I have waisted 2 weeks on attempting to cancel and they will not take my cancelation. Why can't I mail the cancellation to Riverside? Why don't they have an online form? They will not take a fax with my signature. They did not offer me to go to their Riverside office to drop off the Cancellation notice.

What's wrong with this Company? I will be preaching forever for people NOT to get this company for their home security alarm needs.

I simply want a better alarm security system. Next, I am complaining to California commision for home securities, sending letters to Sacramento, local CBS and NBC 4 news. They will love this story.
