I was going to purchase this cute Chihuahua and she was $850. A bit expensive, but what the heck I said. She had a runny nose and was sneezing the entire time I was with her. I was assured that she would be checked out. I put a $100 deposit on her, since she was so much money. As I called during the week to ask questions, I was appalled on how I was treated on the telephone.
Each person is a "manager" there but no one seems to want to help you. They tagged on all these additional fees that they said I agreed to when I was in the store. I was told I was incompetent and again not one person treated me with any customer service.
They did not even care that I was not going to take the dog, but there were pretty aggressive when it came to telling me they were keeping my $100 deposit. This is a poorly and unprofessional run organization. When you ask for the owners name, you get that information is not neccessary. I advise everyone not purchase one item from this place. Stay away and pray for all those animals in there.

Thanks Kristin for your feedback. As for Robin, Kristin has put you in your place. If you look up Puppy Depot with BBB, you will see many complaints not compliments on this company. My complaint (if you read it correctly) was an all around complaint. The staff is quite rude when you have concerns or questions on your purchase. Of course when you want to purchase everyone is your best friend there. I am happy that you had a good experience there, but you were lucky. I read four seperate reports where people purchased a dog there for over $800 and all the animals were dead within four months and puppy depot did nothing for these customers. You need to read up alittle more before you try to blast someone online.

I'm just reading all this and yes I can somewhat understand as to why they kept the one lady's deposit but they are crooked over at puppy depot anyways, so who knows the whole story. And Robin that's just great that you had such a great expierience with that pet shop, but you can't be a spokesperson for them and say that all the dogs there are "fine" when clearly that's not the case. How do you know that the dog you got from a shelter didn't come from a pet store? Either way dogs can get sick no matter where you get them from. But, to have such defects in a dog that just doesn't happen. It only happens when the person breeding the dog is irresponsible and just darn right don't care. I'm in a rescue group and I've seen that most of the dogs that come in were purchased from pet stores and they are so young with so many medical problems and I'm not talking about a runny nose either. It's not like they are old dogs that are aging they should actually be healthier than an older dog for as young as they are but they are not. A good breeder doesn't sell to pet stores. They want to know who the person is who is going to adopt their beloved pet. So, before you start yapping on how brilliant this place is because you had "one good expierience" there you should KNOW YOUR FACTS! There's alot more complaints about them than for them. I even purchased a dog from them and wrote to rip-off in October. Now I'm educated on the matter and will NEVER buy from a pet store again. The poor female dogs used for breeding get the worst of it all, not just the poor innocent puppies. Yuppy Puppy in Port Jefferson is even worse! It's the dogs that are suffering so keep that in mind. Not Puppy Depot!!!!

I cant believe you complaining that they kept your $100.00 deposit. Regardless if they are puppy mill dogs or not, do you realize how many they sell? Of course they kept your deposit.....you said you wanted the dog, left a deposit and who knows how many other people may have wanted to purchase that puppy. You may have lost a hundred dollars, but they lost a few hundred. I have 2 wonderfully healthy puppys from Puppy Depot, and when I left the deposit on the first one- a mere 25.00 they took him into the back for a day so nobody could buy him. As for the runny nose and sneezing, thats common anywhere that has puppys together, check the pound, its the same. Its minor, cleared up with some inexpensive clavamox. My dog from the animal league is the one with all the health problems, while the puppy depot dogs are fine.
