I used this website to look for a puppy, because I thought it was more reliable than craigslist. Breeders have to pay a fee to list their puppies on puppyfind, therefore I thought I was only dealing with verified breeders. Well it is not so. All puppyfind cares about is to collect their fees from breedrs, they do not care if the fee they collect comes from a scammer, who is posting fake pics of puppies they don't have, to make a fraudulent sale to steal your money I bought a puppy that I never received. The breeder was a scammer. Puppyfind refused to provide any help, nor do anything. Basically, it is my problem. They chose to protect the scammer. If you think you are safe buying through Puppyfind, think twice

Rebuttal To Puppyfind Poster on May 4th, 2017

AUTHOR: Honest Breeder - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, December 01, 2017

I am a breeder who only advertises on PuppyFind.com.  The honest breeders police the site and report suspected fraud or irregularities to administration.  PuppyFind administration has always been curitious and addresses all reports promplty, even at night.  Anyone, unfortunatelly with a card can create an account and the holiday are a boon for crooks.

It is up to the buyer to take all precaution in finding an honest breeder.  No dog advertising site that is honest, and PuppyFind is, can filter all the scammers, as they keep returning.  Look for local area codes and always talk on the phone and never do texting or email at first.  Avoid 800 numbers and ads where if it sounds too good to be true....  Western Union is a dead give away you are dealing with a scammer or dishonist breeder.  It is easy to blame PuppyFind when most of the time if the buyer took a little more precaution, they wouldn't have been scammed.

Hello,

It’s unfortunate that you came in contact with a scammer on the site. Every seller/breeder goes through an approval process but as stated in our Terms of Service policy because we are a bulletin board service we are not able to offer any guarantees that the individuals listing on the site are reputable breeders. It is important that buyers do ask questions and feel comfortable with whom they are working with.

As a way to assist PuppyFind users to determine if breeders are legitimate we do offer Buyers Tips located at http://www.puppyfind.com/buyer_tips/ which gives buyers several tips on what questions to ask and how to protect themselves when purchasing a puppy, which includes recommending that buyers visit the facilities and the breeder personally.

Please know that PuppyFind.com staff performs ongoing scam searches and removes scam accounts as we locate them or as they are reported to us. We have hired additional staff so these searches can be performed throughout each day. We are blocking IP addresses from known scam locations preventing many scammers from accessing the site. We have also changed the required information submitted when purchasing a membership to include the 3 digit security number to prevent the use of stolen credit card information.

Scammers will often locate legitimate breeder information from outside sources and use the information to create accounts that appear legitimate. Only after the account has been approved does the scammer log back in to alter the information and create their fraudulent listings. Any PuppyFind.com seller has the option to make changes to their account information, which unfortunately allows the scammer to change contact information. PuppyFind.com has nothing to gain from allowing fraudulent users to list on the site and we are making every effort to prevent them. Although it is our goal to run a website that provides a safe, secure, and pleasant experience for all of our valued users because of the open nature of our site we are unable to make any guarantees.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@puppyfind.com

Thank you,

PuppyFind.com Support
