I purchased my furniture in June 2013. Have made my payment every month,  over 250/mo.  Cash price of a bed and sectional 2409.99 before taxes. I call in October to get cash price and am told 2200 if I paid it out that day. Now it is January 2014 I have never been 30 or more days past due. My payments are due on the 15th of the month. Today is the 22nd.  I have been out of work and making ny payments late but never past the 30 days. The manager tells me she is going to turn me over to collections and repossess my furniture.  Which will show on my credit as a repossession.  And they will also persue charges to garnish my wages to collect the rest. Which is over 7000.00. Keep in mind this is a 1200 dollar mattress and a 1200 dollar sectional.  I am not 30+ days past due in order to be sent to collection agency so she threatens to send me to legal department.  I have asked for months to have the regional manager to call me. Never calls. My couch has been damaged since the 2nd week I've had it.  It's under warranty and supposedly was going to be fixed. They sent a ghetto repairman to my house and he stuffed some foam in it, super glued it, and left. It was supposed to be a temporary fix.  They order me a new part. Never comes. They send the wrong piece twice.  And then never show up or call again.  Nor do they return calls.. only tell me it's been ordered.

Not that I have to prove ANYTHING to you. But actually my payments were on time. I recently had to quit my job due to my 18 month old child having health problems.  So my credit is not the issue.  The furniture that I have already made 7 months of payments on.. which was scheduled to be repaired/replaced 2 weeks after purchase still has not been fixed.  They have sent people out 3 times... and each time... they have brought the wrong piece of furniture.  So before you judge or try to tell me how awful I seem... ask questions... don't assume.

I'm not asking for a handout. And as I stated previously the furniture is scheduled to be paid in full next month. I have never been late on any of my past payments UNTIL my son got sick. And unfortunately that is not something you can PLAN for... I'm doing the best I can and have made my payments.  Like I said all I'm trying to accomplish is to get my furniture fixed before I pay it off and they refuse completely.

Maybe I should have done some research on the company before trying them out. Because this seems to be a common complaint now that I am researching the company. I don't have bad credit... When I started out I had no credit.  Theres a difference, I'm building my credit. . Im not some ignorant consumer trying to get over on anyone or not make my payments..  everyone going thru RAC acceptance needs to read the paper work word for word. .. I let them rush me thru it and the girl didn't fully explain it to me.  My fault.  But don't pass judgement like you are all mighty.. life happens....

Why is it...

Why is it that when someone doesnt buy your story you immediatly accuse them of working for the company YOU are complaining about? Anyone who is replying to you is more then likely one of the MANY consumers that volenteer. Just because we do not buy your story doesnt mean that WE work for the company you are complaining about.

As for YOUR situation, you do realize that your credit is just that bad....So yes they are going to call you when you are one day late. ITS LATE!!!! It wouldnt matter if you were 1min late its still late. You obviously had to go with them because your credit is not that hot. Its not RACs fault that YOU have poor credit. THEY are just the poor bastards who have the misfortune of having you as a customer. And I call it misfortune because THEY DO HAVE TO CALL AND HARRASS YOU TO PAY THEM!!! Do you think they LIKE doing this?? I can tell you they do not!!! When your job is literally calling and having to threaten people just so they will pay WHAT THEY RIGHTFULLY OWE, its not a fun job. Its like telemarketing but you have to be a complete a$$.

I would suggest that you just make your payments on time. Maybe if you showed a SOLID payment history they would be more inclined to get your issue resolved. Even ONE missed payment is going to cause you issues. So make about 4 months of solid payment and see if they will do warrenty work then. And FYI: Warrenty work means FREE WORK. FREE PARTS!! They are not going to waste the time doing FREE work if your going to bail on them next month.

The furniture is defective first off.  I have already said I would pay the cash out price in February.  But want my furniture fixed. I am fully aware of what financing is... read the entire post. I was asking for management because my repairs have not been made and I HAVE made my payments.  If it is under warranty I want it repaied... it's pretty simple.  You must work for this company... or you wouldn't be defensive about something that is none of your personal concern.

A payment due on the first day of the month IS LATE on the second.  I would imagine with your reasoning in all this is that RAC is a sub-prime (DEADBEAT) lender and the only kind thay would make a loan to you.  They are telling you that you need to make EVERY payment on time EVERY time.  You have not done so and they are tired of your excuses.

I predict a future of credit problems for you as you haven't learned from your past.
