I recently received a voucher in the mail for $1600 off of a vacation package with Ramada Plaza resorts. I paid the $698 initial fee for half of the package with my credit card in monthly installments. I was told by the sales person that I dont have to pay for the rest of the package until I travel. I just found this website and think that I want to cancel this "wonderful vacation". I am hoping that someone can give me some advice as to how I can get my money back for this scam of a vacation. Please help my husband and I cant afford to take a horrible vacation.

Ramada Plaza Resorts-asked to cancel trip and refund-They said No.

AUTHOR: Roxana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 21, 2004

On 4/19/04 I called Ramada Plaza Resorts after finding this website. I asked them to cancel my trip and asked for a refund of my $698 deposit. I spoke with a customer care person named Lovell at 1-800-561-0999 ext. 4031. Lovell informed me that I could cancel my trip but that I wouldn't get my deposit back. He said that it had been a year since I purchased the trip and that the three day refund window had closed long ago. I told him that I had found numerous complaints and lawsuits against the company on the internet and I was concerned about my vacation. I told him that I didn't want to waste anymore money on this trip including airfare to Florida. Lovell stated that the complaints on the internet were only about 1% of the customers they sold vacations to. He said we can't please everyone. He then offered to send me a money back guarantee letter and some more vacation vouchers for airlines etc.....I should receive these sometime next week.

I decided that I only needed to ask Ramada Plaza Resorts for my money back once. I know from reading all of the complaints against them that I could call them 100 times and still not get my money back. Later that same day I decided to file a complaint with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture, Division of Consumer Affairs. I next day I called them, they gave me a complaint case number and I faxed them all my supporting documentation. Hopefully, I will get a refund pretty soon. I can't wait.......it's a shame that so many people can get ripped off by a large company and they are still in business, it doesn't make sense. I wonder just how many people they have ripped off....I found this site by accident.......I can only imagine how many people there are out there who haven't filed a complaint. If you want to file a complaint with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture the web address is....www.800helpfla.com. It can never hurt to file a legitimate complaint. Good luck to everyone out there.
