I purchased a RCA 50" HD projection TV from my local Walmart on Nov.17th 2007. On Feb.29, 2008 it quit working. I followed their proceedure to try to get this resolved. The only office to handle this is not in this country and you cannot speak to anyone in this country! my TV was taken out of my home and brought to the nearest "approved" service center for futher dignosis and repair.
It is now April 25th 2008, I have now been told that my set cannot be repair and they will have to "submit" and order for a replacment. I was told this can take 6-8 weeks! When I asked who else I can contact to try to get this resolved sooner I was told there is no one else. I am out 1,150.00 the cost of the TV and the extended warrenty I purchased, which by the way does not add on additional time just because I don't have my TV.
I feel very violated and helpless. There does not seem to be any avenues other then THEIR way to get this resolved. I think this is nothing short of grand larceny. I hope someone can learn from this. but I also think something needs to be done RCA Thomson should not be allowed to do this to consumers!

RCA has not been an American company for many years. It has become a bottom tier manufacturer, using inferior parts and having virtually no support system for the trash they sell. Any search of the electronics bulletin boards will show the inferiority of this brand name. Because they are located outside the US, there is really not much you can do about your situation, except to stop buying RCA products. In this day when a good HDTV costs around $2000, the RCA indeed looks like a bargain. But, you get what you pay for.
