Reliance Surety Group, INC Almost scammed again!!! It Was A Rip-OFF Las Vegas Nevada

I received a letter and a check for $4830.20. Stsated I was getting a grant for $48,000.00. I was to call number and get directions and would get more money in 3-5 days. I had been ripped off about a year ago in a lottery scam, so I was really leary about this. I called and asked them several questions. She told me to verify check with the bank as it was a cashiers check and I even did that. It was verified by automation. I was still suspicious, so I checked things out on internet and found other ripoff reports . I saw others had gotten same letter and went through the process, I suspected. It is all a rip off.I am thankful,I looked on internet. I did not want to get scammed agai. I had also received a different check last Saturday from someone else and I just tore it up. I should have checked it out.
