Republic Services Allied Waste Service Cancellation Ripoff Capitol Heights Maryland

Republic Services Allied Waste automatically renewed my contract. I called to cancel and they started their maze of what I would do to cancel. They put every imaginable impediment to frustrate stopping their services. I explained to them that the District of Clumbia is picking my trash for free because I am entitled to it and I do not need their services. The previous owner of the property set up the account obviously in error and transferred it to me when I bought the property. An honest District of Columbia Housing Inspector informed me that I do not need the services of Allied Waste because my property qualifies for trash pick up by the DC Dept of Public Works. Republic Services Allied Waste came up with their calculations of a large sum of money I have to pay to cancel. That does not make any sense because they are not picking up my trash any more the City has been doing that for several months. Republic Services Allied Waste keep sending monthly bills stating that I have to pay their cancellation fee first before they can stop their services which I have not been using. Attempts to negotiate the fee to something less than $1000 did not go anywhere. Their staff will not give names of their higher-ups to discuss the rippoff. It is a scheme deliberately set up to trap consumers. Beware of Republic Services Allied Waste. I intend to file complaints against them with various Consumer Protection Agencies. They are a complete ripoff!
