Resume Genius deceptive advertising and faulty result don't know
*Consumer Comment: Don't bother with these online resume companies
resumegenius.com advertised a free resume service. I spent some time entering a resume. Then when I was done I was told I had to pay $4.95 AND sign up for ongoing service. I was still prepared to try it. But when I pressed preview button, nothing but the first page showed up and ALL the additional information was gone. Going back to previous page, selecting edit option --nothing worked. It was all gone. Complete waste of time.
So the site was deceptive and faulty.

Don't bother with these online resume companies

First off, there is a wealth of information and templates online for you to do your own resume. You don't know the qualifications of these "resume people". They probably just use online templates themselves! I worked in HR and Recruiting for over 10 years and have done hundreds of resumes for people. I once submitted my own resume to a recruiter job I found online. It turned to be a solicitation from one these so-called resume writing companies, who informed me my resume needed to be re-done and they would be happy to do so, for $50.00. When I asked the woman to pinpoint what was wrong with my resume and what HER qualifications were, she got defensive and nastily said "Look lady, I am just trying to do my job, I just do what my boss tells me". I said "OK, so what is YOUR boss's qualifications"? She slammed the phone down. My point is, you are better off finding someone locally you can meet with in person and check their references and qualifications OR just do it yourself using all the information online.
