They called my neighbors house and told them that if I didn't call them within the hour a sherriff would come to my job and arrest me and then arrest my neighbors and my daughter. I was so scared when I talked to her that I told her what I would pay. She demanded that I pay it all right now. I made arrangements to call back the next day and called my friend to see what I should do.

So my friend talked to them the next and said that because I told them what I would pay I had to pay it. So she went to get the paper for me to sign so she could fax it back to them and then that is when she told me she found out someone was trying to steal my money and I wasn't going to sign anything. I cried because they really threatened me.

Why would you be scared? Can't be arrested.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

I don't know why you would be scared. They cannot arrest you.

Just knowing the basics of our legal system would have helped.

You can only be arrested for CRIMINAL matters. Debts are CIVIL matters.

And, be careful of even making a statement that you will pay, because whether the debt is real or not, or owed or not, your statement could make it legally collectable.

Again, knowledge is power, but is it just smarter not to take calls from unkown callers. Tell your neighbors to do the same. Let them know never to take messages for you, that you have your own phone.

They're only thieves.

They use fear to steal, but truthfully they can't arrest you, send a lawman or have you hauled into court, it's ALL Lies.

They're not even in America they use a telephone relay, Actually the people who called and threatened you are In Pakistan Yes Our sworn enemy, and see this as their just due because we're NOT Muslims.

Don't be afraid, they're powerless, if they were to really call police THEY WOULD BE JAILED not you.
