Ritz Camera is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with! I placed and order on Amazon.com for a new plasma TV, that apparently was being supplied by Ritz camera. The item was supposedly in stock and available for next day shipping. I called the company the next day and asked when the item would ship. I was told that it would be at least a week and a half to two weeks. My wife and I found a TV that we preferred at a local store on Black Friday so we bought it and then I promptly called Amazon and Ritz to ensure that my order would be cancelled. When I called Ritz I was told that they would send an email to thier distribution center to cancel the order and that it should be taken care of in one to two business days. Three days went buy and I called Ritz again after getting an email from them saying that there would be a delay in shipment but the order would ship ASAP. I was told that the emails were just a fuction of their server and that my order would be cancelled. I got these same emails from Ritz every other day for about a week to a week and an half, and I called every time I got one to make sure that we were on the same page that my order should be cancelled. I got the same response evry time I called "Its just a function of our system." Finally I got an email that stated that my order had been processed and has been shipped, I called again and was ensured my order was cancelled. Two days later my wife called me at work and said that a delivery driver tried to deliver a package to our house while nobody was home. He then went to our neighbors house and asked if he new how to get ahold of us. The neighbor knows my Uncle who in turn works with my wife so he called their work for the driver. The driver then asked my wife if our neighbor could sign for a package and she said yes, since it's x-mas time and we shop online a fair ammount. When I got to my neighbors house there it was....the cancelled TV!!! I immediately called Ritz and they said they would send via email a return goods slip, so I could drive to a UPS to have the item shipped back, THAT EMAIL NEVER CAME! I called my credit card company throughout this whole process making sure to warn them about my conversations with the comapany and to tell them that if this TV shipped I was going to dispute it. When I spoke to my credit card comapany the night the Tv was delivered, there was no charge on my credit card? The customer service rep actualy told me "Merry Christmas." I called Ritz camera again and was told that the return goods email would be coming shortly...STILL NO EMAIL. Two weeks later I received a charge on my statement for the TV. It is now in dispute and despite numerous attempts to cancel this TV and then to return this TV it sits in my office in my house, in its original box as I write this now! This company has violated the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISIONS MAIL OR TELEPHONE ORDER MERCHANDISE RULE which also applies to ordering online as well. I plan on launching legal action if my credit card and ritz can't get the matter resolved quickly.
NEVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
RITZ CAMERA IS A BREAKING THE LAW TO PUSH THEIR PRODUCT AND I PLAN TO EXERCISE ALL OF MY LEGAL RIGHTS!
