I went into the new Robinsons-May at the Irvine Spectrum Center last week and someone from fragrances asked if she could help me find something. I asked for one by Kenzo, which as it turned out, they did not have. She then took me over to a group of three other saleswomen in the department who were just standing around idly chitchatting with one another.
When the first saleswoman reiterated to the others what I was looking for, the oldest woman in the group tried to tell me that it had been discontinued for a long time. I knew that was a lie, because that same day I saw it at Nordstrom (where they treat me well and have up-to-date merchandise). As soon as I walked away from the group the oldest one was mocking me and the others laughed at me as I left the store.
I would expect this immaturity from a college girl, but these women were all over 30, the oldest over 40! Maybe they were just mad because I didn't buy anything. Very unprofessional.

same experience at Irvine Store

I too have had a similar experience at the Irvine Spectrum store. Shopping there is so convenient for me, right off the freeway and no mall hassle! I only shop there for cosmetics.
The girl behind the Lancome counter is terribly rude. I wish I had her name...I'm talking sooo rude, that I feel the need to write about it.
Thank Goodness I'm older and don't crumble under her intimidation tactics that she faels she earned from 'basic retail 101' At first it was funny, I brought my 18 year old daughter to the store once to witness her bahavior. We did purchase something from her just to amuse ourselves... however, the same day, same hour, same minute... I decided to switch to a different line to keep the convenience of shopping at the Irvine store.
So.... AFTER our purchase from her, we mosied over to the Este Lauder counter.... she had the audacity to glare at us and give us dirty looks! Her behavior still amuses and amazes me.
I am happy to say, I was not nor never have been ripped off at that store or any other Robinsons May store.
