My husband paid for a license and received a notice back from the licensing agency that although he paid the full amount of money, his license would only be effective for 6 months rather than 1 year. The notice stated this action was due to San Diego County Dept. of Child Support Services having caused a temporary licensing status due to being "out of compliance" with them. Payments have been made for many years every week to feed the hungry Child Support Offices demands however we were informed suddenly this was not enough again. I contacted and finally reached Michael Dobbins with the enforcement/Compliance Team 1. He stated there had been a court order (which my husband of course was not present for because he had not been notified of a court date) which stated he would need to pay more than what he had been paying and that upon receiving 3 months of payments for the higher amount, the license would be released. Desperate, I agreed. To date, the license is still not released. Phone calls are not returned. Interestingly, when I receive monthly invoices, the amount they have been billing for is actually around $200. less than what Michael Dobbins stated my husband was to pay. A copy of this ex-parte order was sent to our address, but they are claiming different amounts than what is invoiced monthly. Very strange. It really is a shame that my husband has been denied visitation with his son since 2002 by his ex-girlfriend. At least he still supports his son. It would be great to live in peace and just be able to continue to pay our bills without this department ruining our lives. We have 5 children to support and every time this happens we wonder how much the department's "new price" will cost us this year.
