SAR & Associates Scam!! Ft Lauderdale Florida

 I first recieved a call from SAR and Associates in September 2015.  They stated that I had a payday loan from April 2012 that was in default and that SAR is now the owners of the debt and were ready to file a civil lawsuit.  I asked to have the evidence of this sent to me. They refused stating the verification time had passed and that the letters that were sent to my old addressed were returned.  I said that I had a forwarding address so that was unlikely.  I said that I still had a right to know what I was dealing with.

This company had my old bank account number from my old Texas account, my social security number and my old IP address.  They said the bank verified that the money went into my account.  I pulled my old statements and there was no such deposit.  They claimed the original debt was with LTS.

I am an auditor with the Federal Government and work in credit.  The calls were so abusive and unnerving that I had to check out my old bank account even though I knew I didn't have a payday loan or any unpaid accounts. SAR also does not provide the mini miranda for debt.  Legitimate companies are super anal about this requirement.  My concern is that if I am unnerved by this company's actions and abusive tactics, what must it be like for vulnerable people with less understanding of the industry?  This is flat our abuse.  I have reported this company to the CFPB.  I want them stopped.
