Warning to all new home owners! I came across one of the most deceptive pieces of mail at my home today. I opened a letter from a company called 'Secured Document' to find what appears to be a bill for a Grant Deed in the amount of $83. This "bill" was labeled as a 'Deed Processing Notice' that even included a due date. What a complete SCAM! (Glad to see that a company like this exists in our nation's capital). Secured Document is truly pathetic to have created such misleading marketing collateral in order to trick people, specifically new home owners, out of their money by having them think they have another bill to pay. They assume that people are too dumb to read the fine print . . .
I'm returning the letter in the envelope to waste a stamp . . . how about a fake check?
