Security Associates International Promised responsive local repair service on 2 year contract for home alarm monitoring Arlington Heights Illinois

In May, 2006 I signed an agreement with APX (no longer in business) on behalf of SAI for home security system monitoring. At that time, I was told I was signing a 2 year contract and that responsive local service would be available for any repairs or maintenance required. My front door alarm has been inoperative for over a week, now, when I reported the problem to SAI. Yesterday, I was contacted by a firm in Las Vegas, over 400 miles away ("S and S", I think). The man I spoke to, Eric, said he might be in Reno in 2 or 3 more weeks, but could not make an appointment. When I called SAI to cancel my service because of this unacceptable behavior, I was told that my agreement was for 3 years, not 2 and I would be charged for the remainder, even though the system is currently inoperative and they won't repair it!
