Sell and Recycle in San Francisco, CA is a huge scam. Please do NOT sell your phone to these people. I found the company online when I was selling my broken Samsung Galaxy S4. They had good reviews and they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I believed that the company was legitimate.

I filled out the form indicating that my phone was broken, it wouldn't turn on, etc. They offered me $70. I requested packaging from the company around the beginning of June 2014, which they quickly sent to me. I packaged my phone and sent it off. All seemed well. A few days later, I logged in to their website to check the status of my phone. They had received it and they were assessing the damage. A few days later I received an email stating that they would send me $70 for my broken phone. I was okay with this amount, but I really wanted to speak with a person from the company before confirming the check. I tried calling multiple times. They have NEVER answered their customer service phoneline, even when I called at all different times of their business day. I have also sent MANY, MANY emails to their customer service line. None of which were returned.

Finally, I get a response from the company after I threatened to turn them in for being a scam and for the theft of my device. They told me they wrote a check and sent it out on June 27, 2014. They said it should take 4-6 business days. It is now July 11th. It's been 9 business days (not counting the 7/4 holiday). I started emailing them on Wednesday, July 9th and I emailed them again today before I filed this report. Still no response from the company. I have asked for proof that they sent the check MULTIPLE times. Still no response. I've tried calling their customer service line. Again, I have never spoken to a human on their customer service line. The phone rings and rings until it goes to voicemail. I've left MANY voicemails. None of my calls have been returned.

I was fooled into thinking that this company was legitimate based off of their reviews and their BBB accreditation. Please do not sell your phone to this company and make the same mistake that I did. I am still hoping they will do the right thing and either return my phone or send me the $70 check. I will update this report if Sell and Recycle actually sends me the phone or the money.

Again, sell and recycle appears to be legitimate, but they are actually a scam. Upon further research, I realized that many people had sold their phone to this company and they never received payment nor did they get their phone back. Don't sell your device to this company!!!
