Shadow Shopper ,Shadow Shopper is a company that needs to be avoided because they sent ma a check for 2,950.00 as I was supposed to spend 300.00 of that in a retail store and wire the rest back through western union,got skeptical, called the bank, SCAM! Carson City Nevada

Hi, I was almost scammed by a company called Shadow shopper. I received a letter, a check in the amount of 2,950.00 and a company evaluation sheet. I was to select from Wal-mart, K-mart, Macy's JC Penny or Target to audit. The time I was alotted was only 2 hours to evaluate the store, buy 300.00 in whatever merchandise I wanted, fax the evaluation sheet, receipts and then go to westernunion and send the remaining balance of 2,395.00 back to the company.

What I did was I took the check to the bank and ofcourse they put a 10-15 day hold on the check until it clears. Well, I got skeptical of it and decided to call the lady in charge of my account with this company. I told her that I had called my bank and told them to put an extra 10 day hold on the check to make sure it cleared with no problem and to make sure I wasn't getting scammed. She said ok, to just call her when the check cleared. I called my bank back to talk to a lady that was looking into it and the check wasn't in there anymore,,,,THEY PULLED OUT!!! If I had overridden that check, I would have been reliable for the fluu amount. Please use common sense and be aware of these people.
