Large sign at the street advertised unleaded at $2.29 per gallon.   There is also a large sign at the pump area that says "Price with 100 Kroger Points $2.19/gallon)  Husband swiped his credit card and then realized that the price was $2.84 per gallon.   I attempted to go in to the cashier to get help, and found that the door was locked, light was on, no "closed" sign on the door.

We cancelled transaction.

What service station is closed at 3PM on a Saturday?  The $2.29 price was comparable to other stations in the area ($2.24 - $2.35) so it was reasonable to expect this was a legitmate price.
