Shopping Essentials made fraudulent charges on my debit card after joining classmates.com Internet

Shopping Essentials used my debit card to charge $19.95 3 times since June 1.
In June I thought I had shopped somewhere and just didn't remember. When I saw another charge today I started investigating and found out I'm not the only victim.

I called the company tonight to find out who they were and why the were charging me money every month. I spoke to Marsha who told me that my joining Classmates.com gave me a 7 day free trial and when I didn't cancel after 7 days they had very right to charge my card.

I told her I didn't sign up for anything but Classmates.com and never got an email about their company, nor was I advised of their free trial, or the need to cancel. She said she could cancel my membership and refund the charge from yesterday, ONLY. I advised her that since I didn't authorize any charges I wanted the whole amount refunded. I was told that since the email they allegedly sent hadn't bounced I was responsible for the 1st 2 charges.

She transferred me to Lisa ext 2943 her supervisor, who, of course was of no help. When I asked for her supervisor, she refusd telling me he was at lunch and he would tell me the same thing.

I have already cancelled my current debit card so they won't be able to charge me again, and I will never join Calssmates.com again after this registration run out. I will be going to my Crdit Union in the morning to fill out the fraud paperwork and will most likely file a report with my states attorney general as well as the BBB, and the local tv fraud reporter. I will also warn all of my friends NOT to join Classmates.
