Beware when buying from Shop Your Way, Sears' online marketplace of third-party sellers. 

I canceled an order the same day I placed it after receiving an e-mail from the third-party seller that the item I wanted would not be available until sometime next year. 

The third party seller claims they refunded my money, and if I haven't received my refund I would have to contact Sears.  Apparently Sears does not encourage telephone calls.  The phone number is not readily available on the Shop Your Way website.  Eventually, I did find a phone number and after going around and around with their bizarre telephone menu I finally reached a representative.  During my conversation with the Sears representative my call was disconnected.  I spent another 20 minutes or so making my way through the Sears telephone menu only to be cut off while being transferred to a live representative.  Finally, I was successful in speaking with a live person at some undisclosed offshore location. 

The Sears representative advised me that my order had been canceled on December 5th.  I advised the representative that the third-party seller (Wayfair) had confirmed the cancellation via e-mail on December 2nd and advised me that a refund would be issued in 3-5 business days.  I explained to the Sears representative that I received an e-mail from Sears on December 12th apologizing for the delay in my order and ensuring that the problem had been corrected and my order was being processed.  The representative assured me that my order was canceled. She was at a loss as to why I received that e-mail from Sears indicating that my order was still being processed. She also assured me that I had already received a refund to my credit card.  When I explained that I had not used a credit card.  (I used a popular digital wallet service whose name I won't mention here), I was told I would have to contact that service and file a dispute.  The representative could not explain what happened to my refund, but she made sure to emphasize that it was not the fault of Sears and she could do nothing to help me.

The other popular online marketplaces do not have to worry about competition from from shopyourway.com.  Sears does not guarantee third-party purchases and they do not have a customer satisfaction guarantee the way other online marketplaces do. Their e-mail address is "donotreply@customerservice.sears.com".  This should be your first clue that they do not want to deal with thier shopyourway.com customers.  I won't be doing business with them in the future.

My name is Christopher Godfrey, and I'm the corporate district manager for all of Sears Retail Stores.  

I do apologize for any inconvenience or problems you've had with our award winning Shop Your Way membership program.

While no program is perfect, we strive to make it as close to perfection as humanly possible using AI technology.  The Sears and Kmart Shop Your Way Programs were conceived by a focus group after a round of drinks with the intentions of reviving an old Soviet Data Mining program that was originally created by the Soviets in order collect personal information, which we use to collect on important information on all our members.  Collected information may include (but is NEVER limited to) height, weight, medical records, social security and passport numbers, work history, criminal records and history (to determine membership eligibility), blood type, DNA, vital statistical information including blood pressure and heart rate, phone numbers and other relevant contact information, current and previous addresses, family tree and geneological information, and so on. This information is mined specifically for the purposes of sending our members targeted ads and coupons upwards of 3 times per day from each of our brands including Kmart, Sears, MyGofer, Kenmore Alfie, Die Hard, Craftsman, etc.

While it is possible for members to opt-out at any time however, it is NOT recommended.
