I'm a fairly educated consumer of 62 years and it never ceases to amaze me that companies want you to try their product, but then rip you off with their scams. I guess I should know better, but I read an article that the creator of Simply Garcinia was given one of the largest deals on "Shark Tank", so I thought it was legit. My first warning should have been when I requested a 15 day "Free Trail" of the product online, pay only shipping, I could not check out without accepting a 2nd item I had no interest in, but it was shipping only, so for $6, I foolishly went through with the order. I received the order a few days later and decided I would wait to try it because I was on antibiotics after dental surgery. I ordered the "Free" trial on July 29th, a Sat. On Monday, August 14th, I receive an email from the company saying my 2nd months supply was on its way - uh oh..I immediatley realized I had been scammed, so I called the company.
To their credit, they answered and I explained that I never agreed to allow them to continue providing me product, let alone bill me for it. I tried not to be angry at the individual that I was speaking to as it's not their fault that they work for a smarmy company, but after getting the standard "well, sir, you agreed to it when you ordered the "free" trial online" line for a 3rd time, I asked for a supervisor. I was put on hold and the same person came back on and said their supervisor was "extremely busy" but they authorized him to give me a 50% reduction in price. What part of "I didn't authorize this transaction" did he not understand? At that point, I told him that was unacceptable and that the call was over and I hung up. I contacted my bank, disputeed the charges and am waiting for resolution. Maenwhile, I intend to make it my business to contact every government agency I can think of to report this reprehensible behavior this company is exhibiting. It's experiences like this that keep me from "trying" any products from an online offering in the future. It's really sad, because if they believe they have a good product, and it works, I would have purchased more - they didn't need to scam me. Shame on the owners, managers, stockholders and anyone affiliated with Simply Garcinia!
