Singsnap Trevor McGuire, Eatsleepmusic Corp. Destroyed evidence,cover up,unprofessional Nepean, Ontario

I have been a member of SingSnap since late 2007. I have never encountered any problems with Mr Trevor or any member of his staff. I have found both him and the staff members to be helpful and professional. While the site has expanded there have been numerous complaints regarding fees and such. It is a business and as such requires money to stay in business. I have seen where SS has taken members concerns and attempted to work at solutions that both made it easier for the consumer while trying to maintain the business.

Of course some people just want to complain, especially if they feel they should not have to shell out a dime for services. As far as the president of SS goes I have never seen anything unprofessional in his behavior, but have seen him have the patience of Job in dealing with irate people on the SS comunitty boards. The complaints on this site towards SS seem to be made by people who didn't get what they wanted and refused to follow rules of SS eticate. I would advise anyone reading them to check out the site before laying any judgement or credence to these complaints. I do not know Trevor or the staff of SS. I do enjoy the site and have made some great friendships there.

There are many songs for non paying members, but of course the choices are more limited. SS is a business. I never saw any promises of grandfathering for life and I followed that board quite closely. Many people complained, most being ones who felt by being non paying members they were "supporting" the site. SS has bills to pay and those bills increase just like everywhere else. SS has created numerous deals where people can save money on memberships should they desire. Unfortunately offerring everything for free will not pay bills.

To my knowledge every business that wishes to be accredited by the BBB must pay a fee as well as pass various guidelines, so SS is not scamming anyone by being a member.

Ammendment rights and freedom of speech? It is a site with rules and regulations like any organization. I don't believe anyone has been banned from the site without provacation. usually thjat comes from violating the TOS and refusing to follow those rules after several warnings.

On August 25th, 2011 a lawsuit was filed against SingSnap.com founder and CEO Trevor McGuire as well as three other members of the SingSnap website. This lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania Federal Court by Diane Patchen and her fianc Robert Smik, alleged, among other things, a conspiracy to defame and copyright infringement. Eatsleepmusic Corporation, owner of SingSnap, was later added as a defendant.

Diane Patchen was banned from the SingSnap community in February of 2010 and soon after made numerous inaccurate posts around the web regarding Mr. McGuire and his business. Filing this lawsuit against him was, Mr. McGuire believes, the culmination of her vendetta. As soon as the lawsuit was filed, it was publicized on dozens of Internet complaint boards by anonymous posters.

McGuire and SingSnap immediately retained counsel to fight these ridiculous and baseless allegations.

On September 27th, 2012 the Judge William H. Yohn Jr. of the United States District Court DISMISSED all of the Plaintiffs claims and Denied the motion for severance and transfer of the claims as not in the interests of justice because the claims were frivolous. The parties later resolved the litigation, including motions by McGuire and Eatsleepmusic Corporation seeking sanctions and their attorneys fees, to the satisfaction of all parties.
