Yeah, I was stupid and signed up for their MCAD program. The information is not in detail, they say everything matter-of-factly without explanations and then ask you questions on a subject you learn by wrote.

Their course material is outdated, they haven't had any new "Events" since 2002. It's like a ghost-website.

Of course, I realized my mistake too late...and am going to pursue a refund.

But one thing we may be able to fight them back with:

They are NOT a Microsoft Certified Partner as their site claims.

I went to the Microsoft partner's site and there is no mention of SmartCertify on their current partner's list.

I am going to call Microsoft on Monday to see if this is some kind of mistake, but as I see it now, SmartCertify is not a Microsoft Certified Partner.

So as I see it right now, this is false advertising. There are laws in Florida that protect consumers from this sort of thing.

Perhaps we can get Microsoft to back us up and help get our money back.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Ensure your research is accurate. look them up by their parent company name...SkillSoft

Dan,

If you check on whether or not this company is a certified learning partner with Microsoft, be sure that when checking, you look them up by their parent company name...SkillSoft (which is the developer of the training) and you will find the info you need.

As a point of refference, this company trains serveral branches of the military and other offices of the government. According to press releases, the company currently trains 4.6 million users which includes corporations and in home end-users alike.

If you look thoroughly enough on the net, positive information on SkillSoft/SmartCertify can be found. One thing to consider is that most consumers who are satisfied have no reason/motivation to crusade and post data as they received what they wanted.

Also to be considered is this press release concerning their cusotmer base. Pretty much at liberty to spend their money anywhere they want, these companies chose SmartCertify/Skillsoft...

"SkillSoft customers include organizations such as: First Union, Clarica (Canada), Fluor Corporation, Verizon, U.S. Army, Deloitte Consulting, Raytheon, IBM, Internal Revenue Service, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Army National Guard, Dell Computers, Qwest, Department of Transportation, NEC America, British Telecom and Wells Fargo."

See if the company will work with you to exchange your product or extend your services. If you just purchased, you should still be protected by their certification warranty.
