SMART Credit Management Company promised refund of down payment $427.00 and they took money from my account and did not distrubute to creditors. This is fraud. I am out $854.00 ripoff Roswell Georgia

A few years ago, I was using the services of a debt repayment program. To begin the program, a down payment of $427.00 was required, with the agreement the down payment would be refunded after I completed the program.

However, before completing the program, I was notified that Arizona would no longer be a part of their service area. The accounts were then acquired by another debt repayment service.

Before I assumed service with the other company, one last payment ($427.00) under the first company was supposed to be distributed to my creditors, but never was.

I have notified them via email, certified mail, and by telephone, without success. I contacted the BBB in their area and learned there were multiple complaints against this company for not distributing monies as agreed. So far, I am out 854.00.

The only suggestion the BBB of Georgia made, legal respresentation. They offered nothing else.

Is this right? I think not!
