Smarthome makes all kinds of promises before you purchase the item, but after is a completely differant story. I ordered a "Insteon Hub" from them.The description says "Compatabile with X-10" in the listing.I get the device and the software has Icons for X-10 but it is NOT compatable.A call to Insteon (the manufacture) says X-10 support was dropped in the latest version.

I called Smarthome, the first attempt resulted in a wait for 45 minutes, no answer. The second attempt the next day resulted in a ONE HOUR wait on hold. I got in touch with a "Rep" that was informative, told me I was CORRECT that the Insteon Hub version two was indeed not supporting the X-10 productline.He then told me I needed to send that one back at MY EXPENSE and they would ship me a refurbished version one that would "kinda work".I then told him I wanted to return the item for a full refund. I finally got a "RMA" but Smarthome won't pay the return shipping and now I read others have waited and waited for a full refund and get hit by restocking fees (20%).Their online site says FULL REFUND for 30 days, but this is not the case.

Emails and calls to Smarthome goes unanswered, people in charge are firewalled, you simply can not talk with them.

Once they discover you are not happy, calls get parked on hold or simply dumped and you have to wait another 30-60 minutes to get to a "Rep", a supervisor is out of the question.

Hopefully Paypal can get resolution as Smarthome will not even talk with me at this time.I want a full refund (like they promise/claim) and that they pay the shipping costs both ways (like they say they will in the online site).

Of course the "Boilerplate"... this is my OPINION.It is factual and honest, meant to be informational and not for slander or liable use.But if the truth hurts....well thats a bummer.
