EDitor's Comment: Rip-off Report REVIEW: Rip-off Report REVIEW is complete: We note that with over 35 million registered members, there are only a mere 15 Rip-off Reports filed on the Company, which is an outstanding record. We commend the Company for asking us to look into these Reports with a sincere effort by the Company to satisfy any customer that might have fallen through the cracks. Not too sure what the problem could be with a money back guarantee?! With 35 million customers, and hundreds of customer service people working at the Company, we would think they would have a lot more complaints, but they don't. We all know how customer service people can be, remember they are human too :-) .

Review shows many of the comments made about the Company are ludicrous and were more than likely posted by competitors and should not be taken seriously. ALL BUSINESSES WILL GET COMPLAINTS, BUT HOW THOSE BUSINESSES HANDLE THOSE COMPLAINTS SEPARATES GOOD BUSINESS FROM BAD BUSINESS. As a matter of policy, when Rip-off Report is retained by a business to investigate independently and to publish our findings, we use every bit of information at our disposal to determine the truthfulness of the complaints against the company or individual... there are no guarantees as to the final outcome. Our final investigation shows that the company has demonstrated excellent customer satisfaction and has reasonably addressed all outstanding complaints. Anyone may contact me EDitor@ripoffreport.com with any questions or information. ..Also, the company has set up a special email address for those who may have a special refund request (although the regular refund procedures seem to be exemplary). The address is: specialrefund@corp.sms.ac

Upon request, SMS.ac will immediately delete a customers account.Should any registered member want to delete their account with SMS.ac, this can be accomplished from the user's profile page found on the SMS.ac web site, or they can delete their account directly from their phone. Additionally, and member of the SMS.ac customer service team can delete an account for the authenticated member. If any deleted member inadvertently receives any text messages from SMS.ac after the account was deleted [e.g. in error], those charges will be refunded upon notification to SMS.ac Customer Care. Customers should be mindful that SMS.ac is the world's largest community of mobile phone users and many members of the SMS.ac community have the ability to text message each other. SMS.ac has no control over such occurrences. Of course, SMS.ac members can control how many messages they wish to receiveand they also can block anyone that sends offensive or otherwise unwanted messages.

===================== NOW TO THE ORIGIONAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED =====================

I've read everything posted here, and more on other websites about what SMS.ac have done. I REALLY cannot believe that there are present employees of the company posting on this website, still trying to justify what the comany are doing! SMS.ac are a complete scam, and there is no way anyone can say otherwise.

The one employee that talks about how everything is legitimate, (the graphic designer guy?)and how can they be responsible if OUR mobile carriers are charging us for the service and not them? I received several messages, that I didn't ask for, so went to the website to stop them. They did stop for a few months, then recently I have received 'friends' sms, where I either spend money texting back I want to be 'friends' (with probably what is a bogus person), or I text back to stop, spending money again. So, I visited the website, and cancelled my account. I have STILL received more texts.

When I checked the SMS website again this morning, it confirms my account has been cancelled, so how am I receiveing more texts. Also, even more annoying, SMS.ac charge YOU 50p everytime you get sent a 'friends' text, as far as I can work out (I dont' think their pricing schedule is entirely clear.) So, this has nothing to do with my mobile carrier charging me! I'm being charged by SMS.ac to receive something I didn't ask for, AND it's probably people in the company texting too!

The worst thing is, since I am on a Pay as you Go mobile, there is no way for me to find out exactly how much I have been scammed out of.

I wrote a complaint letter, (as they kindly ask why you cancelled your account) but I doubt if anything will come from it. I am fully prepared to complain to an official body, so if anyone has any other ideas how to go about this, please let me know.

Thanks
