Scottsdale Sonobello~Lipo procedure 

I got sucked in by all the ads on the radio; today I have not heard ONE! 

consult was on June 11 2007 with Tanya Burton. She was the only person who evaluated me, when I asked if I would be seeing a doctor to look at what I needed done. She told me she would do that and by just looking at me I needed my lower abs, upper abs, waist and hips. (just enough to get the discount)...she had me lift up my shirt just right there in her office and she confirmed what she was recommend was just what I needed, and in fact proceed to tell me she was about my size and she had the same areas done just a month ago (she showed me the after photo on her phone, I asked to see the before but she didn't have one). 
I was quickly moved along the sales pitch when I told her I wanted to be sure I wanted to do this and could afford it I would like to sleep on it. She told me this discount is only good today and when I leave you cannot get this deal again. I was sure when I walked in there that I was not going to sign up that day...she pushed the care credit app and told me to just check and see if I would be approved. I was and that is how I was sucker punched. Then after all the paperwork was completed "oh and once you sign the finance agreement you cannot get a refund". When she was scheduling my surgery she highly recommended the Dr. that did her Lipo Dr. William Shuell and he was the best surgeon and has done the most procedure's. Thinking this was a good thing I said sure. 

7/22/11 my Pre-op date~ the first day I BRIEFLY met with a doctor not the dr. doing the lipo...nothing was brought to my attention that was concerning. 

8/09/2011 Surgery date~ went in and after they gave me my sedating medication the doctor came in to start marking me up on the areas. The FIRST thing Dr. Shuell did was tell me "I had a herniated bellybutton and he will do his best to work around it and an enlarged uterus and he would of gone with a tummy tuck to get this cleaned up". My mouth dropped, the day of my surgery getting marked up I am told  "BTW this isn't what you really need but I will do what I can". REALLY....

Post surgery-recovery I maintained my weight, I have kept a workout do hundreds of sit ups each night, started taking Weight loss supplements since my surgery (i waited the 6 weeks). I followed their instructions to a "T" so I could get the best results. I still have the same waist size no difference in inches and NOW my tummy is more prudent and when I do tighten my stomach it makes a very strange oblong bump which WAS not there prior too. My husband is sicken by my "new body". 

4/13/12 8 Months later I go in for final follow up. They are in a different suit, much bigger...I take my photos I get weighed. I ask to talk to the Manager due to my unhappiness. 
When I speak with the Practice Manager about my unhappiness and what they can do to make this right she tells me that Tanya is no longer there and she was unethical with her selling and the reason she is no longer with them. Then I am told the Dr. that did my surgery is ALSO no longer with them. I am told that NOW they do NOT do Lipo when someone has a herniated bellybutton and in fact a women came to them and she had a smaller one that me and she was told to go have that fixed and then come back. Which she did and is happy with her results. She continues to tell me that the pushy sell is also no longer being used. So her recommendation is come back and talk with our Manger of Surgeons when he stops by for a visit in a few weeks. She also told me to find out if my insurance will cover the herniated issue and maybe by getting that done she can see about what can be done. I mention to her that I have been watching what I eat, exercising and doing sit-ups she just shook her head and told me it will never go away. I asked for them to see about making this right and refunding my money or pay off care credit. She said we don't refund post surgery. 

The manager confessed that they messed up with not only me but it appears several others and they are trying to get it right for new people OR are they only trying to prevent further complaints, settlements, lawsuits...They need to make it right with Me. I have 2 lawyers to call tomorrow however please feel free to contact me if interested in my case. I am also calling the Medical Board of Arizona to report this.

Needless to say: Do your research and don't let anyone BULLY you into any surgery! And Please tell your friends "SAY NO TO SONOBELLO"

I am also a victim of Sonobello..Please contact me at cherryadelacruz@gmail.com -- I can totally relate to your complains.  Im just wondering if we can all get together and get enough complaints about Sonobello..I feel so so so ripped off..
