Southern Refrigerated Transport Tim Barton & Jennifer Barton complete liars and snakes in the grass. Texarkana, Arkansas
*UPDATE Employee: original complaint: incorrect info regarding process
I went to work for SRT on 3-18-2012 and was made to go out with a trainer due to verifiable in past 3 yrs...I was on truck with trainer for over 2 months at 14 cents a mile..now when I get back to yard to upgrade and get assigned my own truck,I was told by Tim & Jennifer Barton(student coordinators) that although I knew for a fact I had the required 240 hrs to upgrade, that I would have to go back out another month at 14 cents a mile or take a hike...which I did!!!! BEWARE BEWARE of SRT if you are considering starting a career, this isnt the place to go..you will be ripped off.

#1 UPDATE Employee
original complaint: incorrect info regarding process
AUTHOR: Michael McPhee - (United States of America)

I AM AND HAVE BEEN A TRAINER WITH SRT FOR ALMOST 8 YEARS NOW AND THE ORIGINAL POSTER IS OBVIOUSLY SKEWING THE DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAINING PROCESS TO HIS SIDE. HE IS CORRECT IN HIS STATEMENT ABOUT THE 240 HOURS; IT IS A FULL TERM TRAINING TIME FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH LESS THAN 3 MONTHS VERIFIABLE OTR EXPERIENCE. ALL DRIVE TIME OF THE TRAINEE IS MONITORED AND PULLED FROM THE E-LOG SO IT IS ACCURATE. IF A TRAINER IS NOT CONFIDENT IN THE TRAINEE'S PERFORMANCE, HE/SHE CAN RECOMEND THE TRAINEE FOR ADDITIONAL TRAINING, WHICH USUALLY MEANS ANOTHER 100 HOUR TRAINING PERIOD. SO, FOR THE POSTER TO SAY HE WAS TOLD HE WOULD HAVE TO GO OUT ANOTHER MONTH IS FALSE...TRAINING TIME IS ENTIRELY BASED ON THE TRAINEES HOURS DRIVEN IE..240 HRS OR 100 HRS, WHICH ARE NUMBERS DECIDED UPON BECAUSE OF INSUREANCE ISSUES... SO THERE IS NO EVIL PLOT TO 'RIP DRIVERS OFF'. THIS INDIVIDUAL, OBVIOUSLY DID NOT SHOW SKILL ENOUGH FOR HIS TRAINER TO SIGN OFF ON HIM WITHOUT ADDITIONAL TRAINING...IN THE END, IT'S THE TRAINER AND THE COMPANY'S GOAL, NOT TO PUT UNTRAINED OR UNDERPERFORMING TRAINEES ON THE ROAD BY THEMSELVES FOR THE COMMON SAFETY OF THOSE WHO USE THE HIGHWAYS.
