well where do i begin i worked for spedway for a year and a half. one day i came to work and the manager called me in the office and told me i was fired. never really giving me a legitament reason. the girl i worked with was filling my change machine up and some somolians came in so she left my change machine up and went to her register the one somolian stold 72 dollars in change out of the changer and i was on break at the time. he said he was firing me for notfollowing company policy. i tried to get unemployment and i was denied. this manager came in there and fired or made people quitfrom the old crew we had. the dm never called me back like he was supposed to and the lady at the hr said they were fully staffed but i called and there is openings all over columbus. i wolud like to seu them but every attorney i talk to tells me i have no case but how can these people keep doing this to people nd getting away with it is bull.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Superamerica is dishonest
AUTHOR: skwira001 - ()

I worked down at the corporate site for Superamerica. This was not in CT where Northern Tier Energy sits. I was working on a workgroup to domain upgrade for them which was just a short 2 week project. Yes I did get off to a bit of a slow start on the second day when I actually started converting computers from a workgroup to a domain. The other guy got 1 1/2 hours longer of a shift plus got better training than I did. I picked it up and went much faster on the second day when I was converting the computers by myself.
Also, on Friday April 26, I informed my supervisor I had a bowling banquet on Monday, April 29, 2013. He said it was fine to go to that event. I informed him it would be the only time I would miss throughout the whole project. I was given short notice before I started this position. I made arrangements with my other part time job so I could work another shift. Then the next day after the bowling banquet I get notified I was terminated. Their biggest point of emphasis was the bowling banquet which I got permission to go to.
I have been working for 10 years and have a great attendence record. My reputation through this one staffing company is shattered thanks to the dishonesty of Superamerica.

They are scared of being sued

I will tell you why this company is scared of being sued they don't even want thier employees contacting law enforcement about drive offs. When I worked for them and when I got a drive off I got wrote up for it but I refused to sign it. I wrote a comment The next time I get drive offs I will call the police and press charges . When I got another drive off I called the Indian River County Sheriffs department and reported the theft. There 1 time I got fed up with the manager setting me up for a bunch of crap and writing me up for it I told her F--- you and walked out. My advise to folks don't apply for a job at this company

at-will state

You are not guaranteed a job. Ohio, as well as 41 other states, are at-will states, which means you can be fired for no reason at all. That is probably why you can't find an attonrey to take your case.

THEY DO IT TO YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO LABOR UNION PROTECTION AND BECAUSE THEY CAN

A LOT OF STORES ARE LAYING OFF PEOPLE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THEY ARE LOSING MONEY.
THEY MAKE UP ALL KINDS OF LIES TO KEEP YOU FROM GETTING UNEMPLOYMENT. I WOULD HAVE APPEALED THE RULING OF THE UNEMPLOYMENT PEOPLE. YOU CAN APPEAL?
SOUNDS LIKE TO ME THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY THAT YOU STOLE THE $72 AND IF SO, WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL THE COPS IS WHAT I WOULD WANT TO KNOW.
MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO CONTACT A LAWYER AND TELL HIM OR HER YOU WANT TO SUE THEM FOR GIVING YOU A BAD JOB REFERENCE AND ASK WHAT SORT OF EVIDENCE HE OR SHE WILL NEED. THEY COULD GET A PARALEGAL TO CALL THEM AND ASK THEM FOR A REFERENCE AND TAPE THE RESPONSE AND THEY COULD GET THEM TO FAX THE REASON FOR THE REFERENCE TO THEIR OFFICE TO HAVE SOMETHING FOR COURT.
SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT HERE IF YOU CAN'T GET ANYONE TO LISTEN TO YOU.
