I bought my Sprint PCS phone in July of 2000. I originally thought that it would be a great idea to get on a cell phone plan that supposedly covered more ground area and had less problems than any other.

This was my first mistake. To begin with, the phone did not work in my residence. I would walk through the front door and all calls would be dropped.

Thinking that possibly it was the cell phone service all together I decided to have a friend use her cell phone in my house. Her cell phone may not have had the full signal inside, but she was able to continue all her conversations and did not experience any problems.

I decided to deal with the issue and had to leave my cell phone plugged in on my back deck and pray that I could hear it ring. This problem disgusted me, but I gave Sprint the benefit of the doubt.

What I wasn't understanding is that when I made a phone call, and if no one picks up at the other end, then I would not be charged the phone call. That makes sense so far... But why is it that when I do make a call, and it rings for 30 seconds, why am I charged that as airtime?

That makes no sense, it means that for every phone call, I am guaranteed an extra minute added to the actual conversation due to the ringing. This is ridiculous. The straw that finally broke the camel's back occurred today.

After repeatedly giving Sprint my new address they continued to send the bill to another address and decided to turn off my service. I paid what was owed to date on the bill, and the service was "restored". I went ahead and tried to use the phone, but was once again connected to their so called "customer service".

It was advised to me that my bill was 1 penny overdue, and in order to restore service, I would need to make a payment over the phone which would be charged a handling fee of $5.00. Does this sound a little messed up? I pay $5.00 for 1 penny?

No thanks, I told her to immediately turn on the phone, and she politely reminded me my next bill would not be due until August 27th. Today, August 22nd, my phone has been turned off again.

The customer service/account manager told me to get my credit card to bring the bill up to date. Wait, I told her that I did not owe again until August 27th and that the bill would be arriving shortly. She told me no dice, either pay now, or the service would remain off.

After arguing with her, and her continually telling me I was wrong, I hung up, and am now reporting Sprint to the BBB. This is outrageous, and I am forwarding the link to this site to all friends, family members, and business acquaintances to ensure that Sprint never again screws someone over!!!!
