I find it interesting how you can have one contract with three lines and be charged an early termination fee per line. When normally it is per contract. It is interesting also to know that sprint automatically renews your contract when you call in and make changes to your account. Every month, you receive your bill it is wrong. There are charges that you didn't authorized, you must call into the provider just to find next month you get the same thing. These are the things my wife and I have put up with for the last three years. Finally fed up we switched providers. But, only to find that sprint is socking us with $450.00 to terminate our contract early. BEWARE, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SPRINT.

Case/docket number?

""Early termination fees are illegal
Early termination fees haved just recently been ruled ILLEGAL in california, and now the same attorney is going to sue Sprint on the same grounds for EVERY STATE. ""

Do you have the case/docket number to confirm this. I am aware that there was a class action suit and that Verizon et al other defendants offered a settlement that was approved. In this settlement NO wrong doing was admitted and the court did NOT RULE as to the legallity of the ETFs.

Early termination fees are illegal

AUTHOR: Heyheyhey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 25, 2008

Early termination fees haved just recently been ruled ILLEGAL in california, and now the same attorney is going to sue Sprint on the same grounds for EVERY STATE. Every other cell phone company has taken reasonable measures to work with their customers when it comes to early termination fees, but sprint just sticks to sticking it to the customer - in every single case...excuse me, except death.. Well that is a load of crap.

Plus Sprint routinely overcharges their customers and treats them like liars and theives when they try to get help from customer service. I have learned the hard way that Sprint needs to be taken out of commission.

Get involved in this class action law suit. I am.

Read your Terms & Conditions

AUTHOR: Americanmom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 11, 2008

Sprint Terms & Conditions state that the ETF is PER LINE. Every cellphone provider in the industry uses this policy, not just Sprint. That 150$ rebate you recieved on that nice phone you bought when you signed up? The money had to come from somewhere. Everyone uses this policy, or else people would sign on to a provider just to get a cheap phone then go somewhere else with bargain phone in hand. Sprint does not renew your contract when you make changes to your account. We do not require a new contract to change your plan and the only 3 times that your contract is ever renewed legitimately is when 1)You sign a new 2 year contract as part of an Upgrade Eligibility rebate, 2)When you are offered a renewal discount when you near the end of your contract, & 3)When you cancel and go somewhere else and then decide to come back to Sprint. Granted sometimes contracts may be renewed in error, but a good CSR will investigate this and fix the issue for you. I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience with Sprint. We are working diligently to improve customer service as a whole.
